Logan Utah Winter Photography

Here's a little confession. We often take pictures of our own kids on the fly. As we've said before, we are a husband and wife photography team based in Cache Valley (or often known by the county seat, Logan, Utah) and we spend so much of our time working incredibly hard to make timeless images for other people, so we don't often have time to make something for ourselves.

Well, cue wintertime and early mornings. Let me set the scene... Northern Utah is COLD in January. So cold in the mornings. The air quality also gets icky sometimes. But once in a while, there will be serious frost on the trees and the sun will break through the smoggy air. It's one of those times you have to drop everything and grab the camera. On that bright and early, freezing cold morning, I quickly fixed our little one's hair, brushed the dog and grabbed our camera and lighting equipment. Lucky for me, both Nate and I were home that day. This was the product of a 15 minute photo shoot. After that time, we were all turned into popcicles. But we got what I wanted. The sunny, smoggy, frosty sky and the sweet dog with the sweet daugther. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Location: Hyde Park, Utah.
